After the excitement of the aquarium we wandered up into the mall to find some food. We stopped at this great little seafood place and had some delicious meals. Wandering through the mall was like any other mall except that most of the shops (at least on the main floor) were very high end retail shops (Gucci, Versace, Dior, Wang, etc.) I don’t have any pictures of the place, Trav took a few but let me tell you something\u2014when on the 6th foor looking down through the open chasm to the basement below…. stomach turning. There are\/were no real barriers to jumping other than a standard glass arm rail like blockade. It really gave one of those strange urges to jump just because 1. you certainly could and 2. because it was so high why not? Very odd sensation.<\/p>\n
Something very cool that we stumbled upon by accident, was on the very top floor, a large ballroom was sectioned off for an event\u2014an indoor market if you will for new artists\/fashion designers. It was so cool to see people selling their literal hand-made clothing to the masses of young hipster-y people there. \u00a0Some creative accessories makers though! (we didn’t buy anything.)<\/p>\n
Returning to our hotel we quickly showered and made reservations to head to Ruan Nuad, a local traditional thai massage & spa. We both had a 2 hour massage that cost less than one of us getting a 1 hour massage in the US. Afterward we landed at a German\/Thai restaurant call G’s. Very interesting take on dining. Best part was getting to enjoy Warsteiner again\u2014A brewery owned by an old friend’s family.<\/p>\n
Finally we rounded off the night with a lot of dancing! We headed to a place called JP Station I believe. Three stories packed full of folks moving and dancing. The crowd was enormous. JP’s is in a small alley with 5 or 6 other clubs. There were\u00a0so many people. It was very interesting to see the blend of local Thais, ex-pats from around the world all smooshed together into a international sandwich.<\/p>\n
